Privacy policy
Last updated October 19, 2026
This policy explains how PaperQR handles information in the app and on this website. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions.
Your designs stay on your device
PaperQR creates QR codes and stores your saved designs locally on your iPhone. You do not need a PaperQR account. We do not upload your QR contents, contact details, Wi-Fi credentials, or artwork to a PaperQR server. Local app data may be included in backups managed by your device and Apple.
Wi-Fi passwords are excluded from newly saved designs. Exported QR codes can contain the information you entered, including Wi-Fi credentials. Anyone who receives an export may be able to read that information. Sharing sends the exported file to the app or destination you choose, subject to that service’s practices.
Optional usage analytics
PaperQR uses TelemetryDeck to understand feature usage and improve the app. Analytics is enabled by default and can be turned off in PaperQR Settings → Share usage analytics.
Events describe categories of actions such as starting a code, opening editing tools, preparing or sharing an export, viewing Pro, and purchase or restore outcomes. They include an anonymized app-installation identifier and basic app and device metadata. We do not include QR contents, URLs you encode, names, phone numbers, Wi-Fi network names or passwords, artwork, or image-generation prompts in these events.
We do not use these events for advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps and websites. TelemetryDeck states that it does not store IP addresses. Read TelemetryDeck’s privacy FAQ.
Turning analytics off prevents new events. Events already sent are not retracted, and queued requests may finish sending. We do not promise a fixed deletion interval for analytics data; retention follows the analytics service’s configuration and policies.
Purchases
Apple processes App Store purchases and subscriptions. PaperQR uses verified purchase information to determine access to Pro. We do not receive your payment-card details. Categorical purchase and restore outcomes may be included in the optional usage analytics described above.
Photos and other device features
When you choose images through the system picker, PaperQR uses the selected images in your design. Device permissions and system services are used only for the features you choose. You can manage permissions in iPhone Settings.
Support correspondence
If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you send. We use these to respond and troubleshoot. Avoid sending sensitive QR contents. Correspondence is retained as needed to resolve the request and maintain support records; you can contact us to request deletion, subject to applicable retention obligations.
Your choices and deletion
You can delete saved designs from My Codes, disable usage analytics, and remove local app data by deleting the app. Exported files, copies shared with others, and device backups must be managed separately. There is no PaperQR account to delete. Because analytics identifiers are not linked to your email or identity, we may not be able to locate particular analytics events from an email request.
This website
This static site does not include advertising trackers, analytics scripts, or contact forms. Its hosting provider may process connection information, such as IP addresses and request metadata, to deliver and secure the site. Your email provider processes messages you send to support.
Changes and contact
We will update this policy when our practices change and show the updated date here. For privacy questions or requests, use the contact details on the support page.
